Water Shortage Crisis

TRS Family,

This evening, the Jackson Public School District announced it would be pivoting all Jackson Public Schools to virtual instruction starting tomorrow, Tuesday, August 30th. As I type these words, the Governor is hosting a press conference declaring a State of Emergency for the city and a plan to deploy state resources to assist residents during the water shortage.

The Redeemer’s School anticipated the possibility of water service disruption, and made preparations. We will be operating our normal school programs on our campus tomorrow, Tuesday, August 30th.

Here are the steps we have taken to keep our campus safely open:

  • the church significantly increased their drinkable water supply for our students and staff

  • porta-potties have been delivered to campus

  • we will be bringing in meals from providers outside the City of Jackson

Our Leadership will continue to monitor the situation each day with the desire to stay open as long as it is safe to do so. We are praying for the residents of our city who are directly impacted by the flooding and lack of access to water.

Thank you for the opportunity to partner with you in the Christ-centered education of your child at TRS!
