Meet Our Faculty

Our school wouldn’t be the same without its amazing Team of passionate professionals. For this new school year, we are privileged to add several new members to our Team, particularly in regard to the Middle School Expansion and the addition of our eighth-grade class. Our newly reorganized academic cohorts can especially focus on creating age-appropriate material and learning experiences that enrich and engage.

It’s exciting to see how this year is growing and developing, and we’re fully embracing what the Lord has in store for us.
— Mr. Kelle E. Menogan, Sr., TRS Head of School

Middle School: 6th - 8th Grades

In previous years, we stretched our teachers by asking that they teach multiple subjects. As we reach the end of our middle school program expansion, it has become apparent for the need to have dedicated educators who were empowered to focus on their specific area of expertise.

This year, we are excited to have departmentalized our middle school faculty, with four teachers representing each of the academic disciplines: English Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Studies/History with Bible.

Returning Faculty

Ms. Sheila Gilliam | ELA

Mrs. Avious Metcalfe | Math

New Faculty

Mr. Jonathan Eastman | History & Bible

Mr. Drew Davis | Science

Upper Elementary: 3rd - 5th Grades.

As we recognized the benefit to departmentalizing our Middle School, we recognized the benefits to expanding that strategy down into our Upper Elementary ranks. This strategy allows our faculty to develop deeper relational connections with our students and parents. It will also afford our faculty a multi-year strategy for our educators to cater their teaching strategies for individual students over the course of their time through the upper elementary years.

Returning Faculty

Mr. Glenn Robinson | Math

Mrs. Leah Nance | Science & Social Studies

New Faculty

Ms. April Tate | ELA

Lower Elementary: 1st & 2nd Grades

Our Lower Elementary cohort is vital to the future success of our students. Ensuring our students have a strong academic foundation before progressing to the upper elementary and middle school years is of utmost importance. We are fortunate to have excellent educators to support and challenge our first and second grade students at TRS.

Returning Faculty

Mrs. Renee Henry | 2nd Grade

New Faculty

Ms. Marilyn Sawyer | 1st Grade

Preschool: K4 & K5

We are eagerly embracing a new posture in our preschool this year. TRS has made meaningful and intentional progress to pursue a play-based, self-discovery approach to learning. Our preschool faculty is comprised of familiar TRS faces who may be in new roles but certainly not new to our school community.

Returning Faculty

Ms. Morgan Barber | K5 Teacher

Mrs. Rachel Hatcliff | K5 Teacher Assistant

Ms. Alexis Smith | K4 Teacher

Mrs. Gabriela Newcomb | K4 Teacher Assistant

Academic Intervention Team

As our school has grown, the need to expand our academic intervention department has grown with it. TRS is committed to pursuing academic rigor while providing support and enhanced assistance to students who may benefit from it.

Returning Faculty

Mrs. Pe’Quawna Davis | Middle School & Upper Elementary Interventionist

New Faculty

Mrs. Amanda Cook | Lower Elementary Interventionist

Specials

While we are committed to pursuing academic rigor, TRS recognizes the importance that should be placed on the holistic development of a child. This is represented in our TRS Thriving Index. To that end, we are grateful for the opportunity to expose our students to a wide array of special instruction each and every week.

Returning Faculty

Mrs. Brandi Benjamin | STEM & Keyboarding

Ms. Rachael Boxill | Music

Mrs. Claire Howell | Art

New Faculty

Mr. Ishmael Harley | PE Instructor

We have an amazing staff with both our existing teachers and our new teachers. They love this school and the kids, they love to teach. And they love the Lord. All of those things are amazing about them, and they’ve hit the ground running.
