Thriving Index Pillar: HEART & Nurturing Emotional Health
HEART | Emotional Health
At TRS, we are committed to holistic development. While we value the educational acumen of our students, we place equal emphasis on attributes that happen outside the confines of the classroom. Holistic development is equally about nurturing young hearts and instilling Christian truths for students’ future development as image-bearers and ambassadors in their homes and communities.
Our 'HEART' pillar of our Thriving Index focuses on the emotional health of our students. Proverbs 4:23 wisely advises, "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it."
TRS teachers and staff play a crucial role in fostering emotional well-being, and with our intimate class sizes, they can provide individualized attention to every student. This personalized approach allows us to delve deeper into understanding a child’s unique needs, fears, aspirations, struggles, and dreams.
We are also intentional in how we organize various activities and events dedicated to promoting emotional health throughout the year, to help students navigate the complexities of emotions and provide the tools to build fruitful, grace-filled relationships with one another.
Another way we nurture the emotional health of students is through our partnership with The NET Counseling group. Through this partnership, TRS students can meet with a christian counselor on our campus during the normal school day for private counseling sessions at no cost to the families. We have witnessed amazing transformation as participating students have a safe, healthy environment to talk through struggles they deal with. We are tremendously grateful for this important partnership with The NET.
By focusing on emotional well-being – hearts, minds, and souls – we are laying the foundation for students to grow into responsible, compassionate, and emotionally intelligent adults.
