It’s Admissions Season at TRS

Mission: Providing an academically excellent and diverse Christian education and environment to students in the Broadmoor community and the City of Jackson.

If you’re interested in an elementary school that passionately teaches the Word of God,  enthusiastically educates well-rounded students, and is blessed with a dynamic group of teachers and faculty, keep reading!

Before even getting through the door children are greeted every morning with a pleasant “good morning” and a possible fist pump from teachers and staff. Once inside the building, students receive breakfast and enjoy fellowship with friends. At 8 a.m. the school day officially begins as little voices give praises to the Lord through music and scripture. The day is filled with the standard subjects, along with extracurricular classes like art, music and P.E., where students are allowed to express their creativity. This routine occurs Monday through Friday at The Redeemer’s School (TRS), a ministry of Redeemer Church, PCA located on Northside Drive in the Broadmoor neighborhood.

Redeemer Church has been intentional in its desires to support and care for Broadmoor, a historic Jackson community that has seen regression over the decades. Redeemer hopes to not only serve the community, but act as an agent of change. Redeemer’s commitment to help revitalize the neighborhood has led to a significant investment in the lives of the children in this community.

After building credibility with residents, Redeemer Church designed a school that it felt addressed the unique challenges and character of the community. The church’s vision came to life eight years ago after a husband and wife in California were generous enough to invest in the vision and work of Redeemer Church by providing the money to start TRS.

From the start, TRS has been established with a high value of student achievement, while also investing into the holistic elements of education that are being deemphasized in traditional schools. With a shared commitment around supporting the community’s academic, spiritual and physical needs, The Redeemer’s School has pursued passionate teachers, high-quality curriculum and programs that develop the whole child. Any student is welcome to apply for enrollment at TRS. However, remaining consistent with Redeemer Church’s efforts to help reignite vitality in the area, children living in Broadmoor, families with financial need and siblings of current students, typically receive top priority when it comes to enrollment. More than half of our students live in the school’s 39206 zip code.

One of our top ambitions at TRS is making an excellent Christian and academic curriculum accessible and affordable to families. Our scholarship structure is intended to take away cost as a barrier. The cost per student is more than $10,000, but TRS raises money to cover more than 90% of our operating budget. Most families will pay $50 per month per student. Thanks to our community partners and grant-funding, for the 20-21 academic year, TRS issued more than $1 million dollars in financial scholarships to our families.

Along with teaching curriculum that is preparing students to academic success, here at TRS we’re filling children up with God’s word and nurturing and shepherding faith centered believers. We believe that teaching our students through the Bible will guide their hearts towards righteousness and provide hope for life’s trials. At TRS we want to mold intellectually astute souls for Christ to ensure students in Broadmoor and beyond are equipped with everything they need to flourish inside and outside the classroom.

On the spectrum of academic institutions in Jackson, The Redeemer’s School is still fairly new, but building positive recognition and making its mark on Jackson. If you are interested in a Christian school that cares for the whole child using a holistic approach, perhaps TRS is a good fit for your family. The hidden treasure is a work of God’s grace that we welcome you to see for yourself!

We will serve K4-7th grades next school year. If you would like to take a tour and pick up an application, please call our school office at 601-203-2106. Friday, March 12th is the application deadline for the 2021-22 school year.
