BODY | Physical Development at TRS
At TRS, we believe that team sports and activities are vital in connecting young people with something bigger than themselves. We are proud of our Lions Cross Country Team, who completed their third season of competition this fall. We know that offering these types of opportunities will benefit our students by deepening existing friendships, developing beneficial character traits, and experiencing the thrill of personal and collective achievement.
One of the foundational elements we hope to see in our students’ futures is cultivating good habits and promoting healthy physical development. In our ‘Portrait of a Graduate’, we show this in: E | Emotionally and Physically Healthy.
We also believe that the Bible is the lens that God has provided to us to be able to interpret the world around us and inform how we engage in it. In Mark 12, we see an exchange between Jesus and one of the teachers of the law. The teacher of the law posed this question to Jesus, “What is the greatest commandment?”
Whether playing with friends, eating a well-balanced diet, or competing athletically, we believe it is important to prioritize the Thriving Index Pillar – BODY – into students’ regular routines. We are excited to offer students several athletic offerings throughout the year including cross country, basketball, golf, and tennis.
Congratulations to our student-athletes for another successful Cross Country Season! We are proud of your hard work and dedication to giving your best efforts this season. Your perseverence, commitment, integrity, and effort are traits we hope will continue to serve you well. Go LIONS!
