The fall semester is well underway. The excitement of the new year has settled, students and teachers have gotten into a rhythm, and the temps are consistently below 100 degrees. Fall has arrived in Jackson! And with that welcomed arrival, we are excited to have completed our second year of Cross Country at TRS.

Last year, TRS launched our Lions Athletic Program with three sports: Cross Country in the fall with Golf and Tennis in the spring. While we don’t have a track or running course, we do have public streets, sidewalks, and parking lots which is all that our Lions needed to get ready for their races.

This year, TRS welcomed Mr. Jonathan Eastman to our Middle School Faculty. Mr. Eastman teaches History & Bible to our sixth through eighth grade students, and also served as our this year’s Cross Country Coach for the beginning of the fall semester.

Cross Country allows our student-athletes the opportunity to compete against other schools in our area while spending more time with one another outside of the classroom. As a school, we believe that team sports and activities are vital in connecting young people with a mission bigger than themselves. We are prayerful that this year's meets provide an avenue to deepen existing friendships, and also allow a growing community outside of the classroom setting.

Our Lady Lions reduced their collective times by an impressive 6:05 over the course of the season, and our Lions shaved their average time by 5:25 through the season!
