Wellington House: A New Addition to TRS

In the midst of a challenging and uncertain year, the Lord has remained infinitely faithful to The Redeemer’s School. Not only has our student body grown, but naturally, our teachers, faculty and staff have expanded as well. Due to COVID-19, we have grown in ways we did not anticipate prior to the pandemic. For instance, in addition to classroom teachers, teacher assistants and administrators, we have hired educators focused on virtual instruction.

The growth is a beautiful affirmation of the Lord’s goodness to our school. TRS was birthed from dream to reality in 2014 with 45 students in K4-1st grades. These founding students were led by a small, tight-knit staff. We now have nearly 120 students and close to 30 educators, faculty and staff.  As you can imagine, the increased number of people in the school has generated some healthy “growing pains'' as we have had to creatively manipulate various spaces to make room for our new team members. ‘

As previously stated, God is faithful through and through and has started to provide additional space to accommodate our growing population. When Redeemer Church purchased a house on Wellington Road, church leadership graciously offered the house to The Redeemer’s School. The house, which we are now using as additional office space is right across the street from the school entrance.

We are tremendously indebted to Mrs. Robbie Hughes who contributed significantly to the space we now call the “Wellington House.” The donation from Mrs. Hughes has allowed us to make some significant renovations, including electrical restoration, improved flooring, painting, lighting, and purchasing furniture. After a few months of work the “Wellington House” became move-in ready.

Associate Head of School/Chief Advancement Officer, Lane Beasley;  Business Manager, Metricus Sanders; and Director of Development and Admissions, Jewell Hillery now have office space in the “Wellington House.”

The addition of the “Wellington House,” provides The Redeemer’s School with an enhanced professional and polished space for Business, Admissions, and Development interactions. The Redeemer’s School also anticipates using the space for Donor Engagement and supplemental space for student activities. While there are still some minor improvements to make, we are proud and grateful for our new space and welcome visitors to stop by for a visit anytime during business hours, 7:30 am-3:00 pm.
