Spring Field Trips

The Redeemer’s School students kicked April off with a bang! Our second annual middle school overnight field trip was to Memphis, TN April 4th and 5th. Students and chaperones alike had an excellent time exploring the sights and sounds of our neighbors to the North.

After arriving on Thursday, and enjoying a delicious meal at Central BBQ, TRS students headed to the Orpheum Theatre to see the Broadway smash hit Wicked. The night ended at Dave & Busters for games and food. "It was a lot of stuff but my favorite part was Dave and Busters. I didn't get as many tickets as I wanted but I still had fun," eighth grader, Quddus Abdul-Haqq said.

After leaving the National Civil Rights Museum, the group headed to the Memphis Zoo and spent time with the animals and educational exhibits. Following the Zoo, students were able to visit the Memphis Museum of Science and History (also known as The Pink Palace Museum).

Our Lions wrapped up their Memphis excursion at the FedExForum Arena where they saw the Grizzlies beat the Detroit Pistons 108 to 90. "I really liked how we were "seated" up high and that it was my first time going to an NBA game. I also liked getting something to eat at the game," seventh grader Mykell Reed said.

We are so fortunate to be able to take our students on field trips such as this! We understand the importance of exposing our students to new information, new experiences, and new places.

Before the end of the 2023-2024 school year, our students will also be visiting the Mississippi Governor’s Mansion, as well as Hinds Community College where they will learn about the Aviation Program.
