Summer has officially come to a close, and I could not be more excited for the hope and possibilities that this new school year brings. Our Team dedicated time this summer to make some meaningful, exciting, and strategic changes that we believe will further the mission of The Redeemer’s School. The changes range from curriculum, to the length of the school day, classroom renovations, and welcoming new staff. One additional change includes the number of students; as we open our doors for the 22-23 school year, we are excited to welcome our largest student enrollment ever - 145 students!

Curriculum Change | Our curriculum change came as a direct result from our Academic Committee that we launched last school year. It required an honest assessment of our curriculum and student test scores. The assessment resulted in a change that will benefit our students this school year and for years to come.

Mr. Glenn Robinson, who earned his Masters in Curriculum Development and serves as our Upper Elementary Math Teacher, received an enhanced role as Academic Curriculum Advisor, where he assessed the quality of the current curriculum based on faculty feedback from surveys and student scoring metrics. His recommendation was to transition our math curriculum to a new provider, Ready Math, which encourages students to develop a deeper understanding of mathematics to promote real-world problem-solving. There have also been changes made to the ELA programming to help boost students' reading, writing, and critical-thinking skills.

New Faces to TRS | This year, TRS welcomes five seasoned educators to the Team with a combined 50 years of experience. This growth brings our total Faculty and Staff to 30 members, making this the largest Team in the school’s history.

Several of our teachers have close to a decade of teaching experience in the classrooms. One was a career missionary in Israel and Germany who will be teaching in our Middle School. And our new Middle School Science Teacher has over a decade of nursing experience after serving as an officer in the Navy. Lastly, we welcome an administrator from Clinton Public Schools who will now serve as our Lower Elementary Academic Interventionist.

New Spaces at TRS | Lastly, the physical footprint of our school has been broadened and enhanced with one of our biggest projects to date - the renovation of the new 2,400-square-foot Middle School Department. This space is nearing completion and will house two brand new classrooms, a common area between, a Middle School Office, and an IT workspace.

We have expanded the personnel in our academic intervention department and reconfigured class schedules to create new academic cohorts, allowing our Upper Elementary and Middle School teachers to specialize in teaching the subjects they are most passionate about.

All of this work has been accomplished with our students at the forefront and a desire to create the best educational journey possible for this year and beyond. We believe the best educational journey possible is grounded in a Biblical worldview where our students understand the hope of the Gospel as part of God’s plan for redeeming this world.

I am thankful for every Team Member, Student, Parent, Board Member, and Donor who makes TRS a place that values learning, faith, and friendships. I am praying for a safe and fun year of learning that will be our best year yet. Here's to new beginnings and an amazing school year ahead!
