ANNOUNCEMENT: Open Enrollment Now Available for the 2024-2025 School Year

Even though we just started the spring semester, we are already working hard to prepare for the 2024-2025 school year! We are excited to share some key distinctions into what makes our school unique and how we actively foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that prepares our students to be Kingdom leaders in the Jackson community and beyond.

Unique Features and Programs

Our school is uniquely positioned to serve families in Jackson who desire an excellent, gospel-centered education but are prevented from accessing other independent schools due to high costs. Since our inception, TRS has aimed to be reflective of our city's diversity, with the majority of our students and employees being African American – a makeup that sets us apart from other independent schools in the area. Accredited by the MidSouth Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) and a Member School of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), TRS's vision is to glorify God by raising transformative leaders in the community equipped with rigorous, diverse, gospel-centered education.

Supportive and Inclusive Learning Environment

Mrs. Lisa Moore, Dean of Academics, emphasizes TRS's commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.

"At The Redeemer's School, we foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment through consistent communication, respect for individuality, cultural sensitivity, diverse lesson plans, student freedom, and flexibility, while valuing each student's contributions and promoting empathy without stereotypes.”

Enrollment Criteria and Admission Procedures

Prospective parents interested in enrolling their children for the 2024-2025 academic year are encouraged to visit our Admissions page for detailed information on criteria and learn about the enrollment roadmap.

TRS welcomes applications for students entering K4-7th grades. Furthermore, the admissions guidelines assist our committee in identifying and serving a particular type of family. Enrollment decisions by the committee are based on various factors, including children in the surrounding Broadmoor neighborhood, families with financial needs, siblings of current students, and other key elements. To achieve our mission, we employ a sliding-scale tuition rate based on household size and income, with families paying a fraction of the true cost per student.

Individual Learning Needs and Holistic Development

We prioritize students' individual learning needs while maintaining a focus on holistic development. “At TRS, God's Word shapes how we define success,” Lane Beasley, Associate Head of School, said. “Lots of scripture informs our approach, but Mark 12:30-31 is the framework that we have used to craft our Thriving Index.”

These 5 pillars – Heart, Soul, Mind, Strength, and Service – help bring specificity and clarity to how we define success and make decisions for the current and future programs of our school community.

Resources and Facilities

Mr. Menogan, Head of School, is proactive about ensuring that our resources are designed to not only support students’ academic growth, but their spiritual and extracurricular growth, as well.

"We believe in fostering an environment where students can excel academically, deepen their spiritual understanding, and explore their interests beyond the classroom for a well-rounded and enriched education,” he said.

Parental Involvement

We heartily believe that parental involvement plays a crucial role in students' education throughout the year, and we offer a myriad of opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s academic growth and development.

"Parental involvement is a cornerstone of the educational experience at The Redeemer's School, and plays a pivotal role in our students' success,” Mr. Menogan said. “We emphasize that strong partnerships between parents and caregivers and our school community are essential in creating a supportive learning environment where every child can thrive academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually."

How To Apply During Open Enrollment

Enrollment for new families opened on February 1, 2024. As spaces fill up quickly, parents are encouraged to complete the online application as soon as possible. More information and an enrollment form can be found on our Admissions webpage.

We look forward to welcoming applying students and their families to campus soon!
